    Next Gen Camp Out

Have you seen the announcement about Next Gen 2020?  All the details are here - and this camp is included in membership for 2020 so if you're intending to join the tribe then don't worry about this form, just head straight to the Next Gen Trainers 2020 page and fill that out. We have a whole year of fun planned and this camp is just the beginning!

    WHERE?
Bex's place - 540 Wright Road, Aongatete (follow your GPS, and please take care at the SH2 intersection)

WHEN? 5pm Friday 14 Feb to 9am Sunday 16 Feb.

WHAT? Summer camp for the NextGen tribe - we'll be going for a river swim, playing with Bex's horses, star-gazing and roasting marshmallows round the fire and other campy type fun.  Please DON'T bring your pony to this one.

WHO? Next Gen trainers are dedicated and passionate and like to have fun. They want to become better animal trainers, growing their skills to communicate clearly and positively motivate their horses. Next Gen trainers want the horses to enjoy their interactions as much as they do.

BRING? Something to share for morning tea and any other snacks you'd like. We are providing meals.  Please come prepared with togs/towel, boots, sunblock, bedding, warm clothing, rain coat etc.

THE PROGRAM:  NextGen is a unique opportunity for selected teens to spend quality time with the human and equine Positively Together team, and to grow their tribe, connecting with like-minded friends. The emphasis is on kindness, empathy and respect for our animals and for each other. We have a range of activities that focus on how to set the horses up for success so they are happy and cooperative, without the use of traditional training tools such as escalating pressure and punishment. Meanwhile, the teen trainers learn important keys to building positive relationships and trust with others (whether 4-legged or two!). Throughout these sessions we keep a strong focus on those important life skills that run in close parallel to our horsemanship - consent, compassion, trust, kindness to self and others, developing resilience and self-confidence, etc.

Please note: submitting this form does not guarantee you a place at these events. Numbers are very limited and you are only guaranteed a spot once payment is received (if there is space for you in the workshops you will get an email with the account number for payment).
